Hello, my name is Kirsty, and I’m a fully qualified, experienced counsellor supporting children, young people, and adults.
I understand that reaching out for support for either yourself or a loved one can feel daunting, especially when you’re unsure where to turn or what to expect. My aim is to offer a safe, compassionate, and confidential space where you can begin to explore what feels difficult right now, at a pace that feels right for you.
My background includes supporting children, young people, and adults across a wide range of mental health difficulties, within both NHS and charity mental health services. These experiences have deepened my appreciation for each person’s unique story and the importance of feeling safe, heard, and understood when life feels overwhelming.
As an integrative therapeutic counsellor, I draw upon a range of approaches, including person-centred, psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. This means I can tailor sessions to your individual needs, guided by what feels most meaningful and helpful for you.
My practice is neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and inclusive. I warmly welcome and affirm neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ clients, and I am committed to creating a space where all identities and experiences are respected and valued.
What is important during the counselling sessions together is the therapeutic relationship we build together. I believe that meaningful change happens when you feel truly seen, understood, and accepted. Within this relationship, I offer empathy, openness, and collaboration, creating a space where you can express yourself freely, make sense of your experiences, and discover new ways of coping and feel more equipped to manage what you are are finding difficult at present.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and work in line with their Ethical Framework for Good Practice. This means I am committed to providing you with a professional, safe, and ethically grounded space in which you can feel heard, respected, and supported.
If you choose to begin counselling with me, I will be alongside you, offering support, reflection, and understanding as you navigate what feels difficult and begin to reconnect with your own strengths and sense of self.
